How many homes have you built?
We have built hundreds of homes in Boone County.
Are you licensed (where required) and insured?
Yes, we are licensed and carry WC, GL, and Builder Risk insurances.
How do you compare yourself to other builders?
At Hemme Construction, we feel we are a cut above our competition in integrity and trustworthiness. Also, our quality, knowledge, and a lifetime of experience separate us from our competition.
What are the most important benefits of the homes you build?
Quality built homes at a good price.
What type of warranty do you offer?
We offer a 15 year foundation waterproofing warranty, 10-yr HVAC, and a 1-yr general warranty that covers items not already covered by a manufacturer.
Can you give me references from prior home buyers?
We are happy to give you a list of past buyers because they are our best marketing tools.
Do you build model homes I can tour?
(If not, can you help me make an appointment to see a home you built for another customer?) We have a model home and we can also get you into a number of our homes to see the different plans and options we offer in various price points.
What are the major energy-saving features of homes you build?
We use high efficient HVAC systems and exceed the industry standard on insulation.
Do you build only from home plans you supply? Or can I provide my own set of plans?
We have plans and we gladly accept plans from our clients to build their home. Many of our clients start with a plan, either from us or the web, and we transform the plan into their dream home.
What standard features do your homes include?
A nicely done trim package, media panel, surround sound, alarm system, upgraded cabinets and counter tops, irrigated and sodded yard, and upgraded flooring are just a few of our standard features.
What options and upgrades can I select?
Our list of options and upgrades is vast. If you can imagine it or find it, we can do it.
Who will oversee the construction of my home?
Jeff Hemme oversees the construction process.
Who should I contact with any questions I may have?
We have a team in place and each member of our team plays a vital role in building a quality Hemme Home.
How and when can I make changes or upgrades before and during construction?
At any time. We do not have a fee for changes. There may, however, be a cost associated with a change.
How and when will the final price for my home be determined?
In most cases, we determine the price of your home up front. However, there are instances where we would do a flat builder fee on a custom home.
How often (and when) will I have access to the home during the building process?
You can visit your home as often as you choose. We ask that you keep safety in mind, since the job site is active.
How long will my home take to complete?
Most homes take 4-7 months to build, depending on factors and choices. We do not want to rush through the home building process and jeopardize quality and craftsmanship.
Does the community have a Home Owners Association and/or an Architectural Review Committee?
(If so, may I get a copy of their rules and the amount of any fees?) Most of the locations we build in have an HOA and an architectural review process.
What's your process for inspection at key points of construction, at final walk-through, and to address any matters that need to be corrected or finalized?
We have an extensive building process with many required governmental inspections along the way. We also perform our own inspections throughout the process. However, we also welcome any private party inspections authorized by the home owner.
